In-Person Appointments

In-person sessions take place in-office face-to-face.

TelePsych Appointments

TelePsych appointments take place in the comfort of your own home and a link will be sent via email prior to your appointment.

Please Note: You must be a resident of Alberta and physically located in Alberta at the time of your session for TelePsych appointments.

You are welcome to email or call for a 15 minute Complimentary Phone Consultation before booking your first session.

Direct-billing is available

We direct bill to select insurance providers (e.g. Alberta Blue Cross (ABC), Green Shield (GSC); Canada Life Insurance), Veterans’ Affairs Canada (VAC), RCMP, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Victims of Crime Assistance Program;​ and Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)/Express Scripts.

Some insurance companies such as Sunlife and Manulife, do not yet allow direct billing through the psychologist, but reimburse within a day or two. Upon payment, you will automatically receive a receipt for which you can immediately send to your insurance provider.

A credit card is required for online booking, however no charges will be made until after the time of the appointment. If you do not wish to add a credit card on file, please contact us via telephone or email and alternate arrangements can be made.

Equine-assisted therapy is a psychotherapy modality that incorporates horses in the therapeutic process. This form of experiential therapy involves conducting therapy with or around horses and can include activities such as grooming, feeding, and leading. The horses can serve as therapeutic companions during sessions as well as co-therapists who can help facilitate confidence, empathy, social skills, and problem-solving skills amongst other benefits.

Please note there is an additional fee to compensate for the use of the facility and care of horses in addition to the standard therapy fee.

This session is in-person at Forget-Me-Not Acres, 51555 Range Road 222, Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Ria completed her Masters of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle and is a Registered Psychologist. Her areas of focus include complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and navigating cultural identity. She believes therapy should be a safe environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences are celebrated. Her therapeutic approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Polyvagal Theory, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment-based therapy. Ria is also experienced in incorporating animals into therapy through equine-assisted therapy and canine-assisted therapy. Ria believes that healing can happen when we embrace and empathize with our most authentic self and make choices that align with it.
